The BB70 was designed in conjunction with renown jazz bassist Bunny Brunel. It has a contemporary, ergonomic design suited to Bunny's playing style and tastes. Noteably, the upper horn is longer than on most basses, providing better balance without adding weight. The standard body wood is alder, and the neck is Eastern hard rock maple. The neck-through design addds sustain, and allows the BB70 to have a smooth neck heel which improves access to the upper frets. The standard fingerboard is ebony with white dot inlays. Standard pickups consist of an H50A Alnico stacked humbucker in the neck position, and an HB2 humbucker in the bridge position with 18V active electronics.
