The success and excitement generated by the 6 string Anthony Jackson Contrabass Guitar prompted the release of our single cutaway bass, the Emperor II. First introduced in 1989, it continues to be one of out most requested designs. Initially available only as a 5 string, it is now available in 4, 5, and 6 string configurations, in different scale lengths, and with many options. Most notable among Emperor II players is Tom Kennedy. You can see his Signature model in the Signature Series section.
As with all Fodera basees, the Emperor II models are made from our fine stock of aged and highly select lumber. The versatility of the Emperor II basses allows you the flexibility to create your own personal version. Options such as an "Extended B" headstock, number of frets, fretless, choice of pickups, pickup covers, custom inlays, etc., allow you to create a single cutaway instrument perfectly suited to your needs.
